New Eligibility Criteria

Final-year Bachelor's students can now apply for UGC NET.

Expanded Subject Choice

PhD candidates with a four-year Bachelor's degree can choose any relevant subject.

Master's Degree Requirement

A Master's degree from a UGC-recognized university is mandatory for eligibility.

Final Year Master's Students

Final-year Master's students can apply, provided they complete their degree within two years.

Minimum Marks for General Category

General category candidates require at least 55% in their Master's degree.

No Upper Age Limit for Assistant Professor

No age limit for Assistant Professor positions; JRF age limit is 30.

Unlimited Attempts

There is no limit on the number of attempts for the UGC NET exam.
