The Uttarakhand Board of School Education has unveiled the examination timetable for Class 10 (High School) and Class 12 (Intermediate) board exams for the academic year 2025–26. This announcement provides much-needed clarity for thousands of students who have been preparing for their final exams and were eagerly awaiting the official dates.
Exam Dates and Timings
According to the released schedule, the Class 12 board exams will start on 21 February 2026 and run until 20 March 2026. The Class 10 exams will commence a bit later, beginning on 23 February 2026, and will also conclude on 20 March 2026. Both sets of exams will take place in a single shift from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, ensuring consistency across all examination centres.
Details of the First Examination Papers
For Class 12 students, the first exam on 21 February 2026 will be in Drawing and Painting. Meanwhile, Class 10 students will take their initial exams in subjects like Hindustani Music (Melodic Instrument) and Typing (English or Hindi). The board has designed the timetable to provide adequate breaks between major subjects, allowing students ample time for preparation.
Exam Arrangements and Security Protocols
Senior education officials have confirmed that comprehensive arrangements are underway to ensure the examinations are conducted fairly and transparently. A total of 1,261 examination centres have been established throughout the region. Out of these, 156 centres are categorized as sensitive, and 6 centres are deemed highly sensitive, based on past records and logistical considerations. Enhanced security measures, strict supervision, and surveillance systems will be implemented at these locations.
Candidate Participation
This year, around 2.16 lakh students are anticipated to participate in the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations combined. Special instructions have been provided to exam centre authorities to ensure discipline, timely entry for students, and efficient distribution of question papers and answer sheets.
Guidelines for Students
Students are encouraged to carefully review the official timetable and note their specific exam dates. It is essential to arrive at the examination centre at least 30 minutes prior to the reporting time, carry a valid admit card, and adhere strictly to exam-day protocols. Electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or Bluetooth gadgets are strictly forbidden in the examination hall.
With the dates now confirmed, students should concentrate on organized revision, practice previous years’ question papers, and maintain a healthy routine to remain confident and stress-free during their exams.
