Rajasthan Board to Introduce Twice-Yearly Exams for Students

RBSE Update: During a recent visit to Kota district, Madan Dilawar, the Education and Panchayati Raj Minister, revealed a significant change for students in Rajasthan. Starting from the next academic year, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will allow students to take board exams twice a year.

The Minister explained that this initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. All students will be required to take the first board exam, while those who pass will have the option to retake the exam to enhance their scores in up to three subjects.

Additionally, students who are classified as supplementary will also be permitted to take a second chance exam in a maximum of three subjects, including those that were supplementary.

Exam Schedule:
The main board exams are scheduled for February and March. The first set of exams will occur during this period, followed by a second exam in May-June, referred to as the "Second Chance Exam."

Both sets of exams will cover the complete syllabus for that academic session, and the study plan along with the examination timetable will remain consistent. Students who miss the main exam can only sit for the second exam if they provide a medical certificate or a document from the District Education Officer.

The fee for the second chance exam will mirror that of the main exam, and the 'best of two attempts' principle will be applied. This means that the higher score from either of the two exams will be used for the final assessment.
