NEET UG 2026 Application Process Begins
NEET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency has initiated the application process for the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) UG 2026. This examination is crucial for admission into undergraduate medical programs such as MBBS and BDS across various medical institutions in India. Concurrently, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has announced the results for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) held in December 2025. Recent data indicates a concerning trend where many candidates who pursued their medical education abroad are struggling to qualify as doctors in India.
Understanding the FMGE
The FMGE is essential for candidates who have completed their medical degrees overseas, as it assesses their eligibility to practice medicine in India. Each year, numerous students from India travel to countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Russia, and the USA to obtain their MBBS degrees. Upon returning, they must pass the FMGE to be recognized as qualified doctors in India.
