Maharashtra Board's New Policy on Mark Sheets

In a notable change, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced that it will now issue a combined mark sheet and certificate for both Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) students. This new document will feature a student’s photograph along with a QR code.

This decision is set to alleviate the lengthy wait that students typically face when obtaining their mark sheets and certificates. Previously, students received their mark sheets shortly after results were announced, but had to wait around six months for their certificates, which did not include photographs or digital verification options.

The introduction of the QR code aims to enhance the verification process, allowing anyone to confirm the authenticity of the mark sheet through the Board’s official mobile app. This initiative is expected to reduce fraudulent activities related to mark sheets and streamline the verification process.

Upcoming Results Announcement

The Board is preparing to release the results for the SSC and HSC examinations soon, likely in the first or second week of May. It is expected that the Class 12 results will be announced first, followed by those for Class 10. Alongside the results, students will be able to download the new combined mark sheet online.

Combating Fraud with Technology

Historically, there have been numerous cases of fraudulent mark sheets, which often required extensive time for verification. With the new QR code feature, this process can now be completed in seconds. Scanning the code will display the student’s complete details, significantly minimizing the chances of fraud.

The new mark sheet will also standardize the format of student names to match their Aadhaar card, addressing previous inconsistencies in naming conventions. This enhancement aims to ensure reliability and security, making it easier for colleges and universities to verify documents.

Steps to Check Your Results

Students will need their roll number and date of birth to access their results. Once available, they can visit the Board’s official website, input their details, and the mark sheet will be displayed for download.
