Karnataka KSEAB SSLC Result 2023 OUT: 83.89% pass, girls outshine boys

The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has released the results for the Class 10 SSLC exams.
 
The Karnataka Class 10 SSLC results has been announced. As per the data released by the KSEAB, this year, the KSEEB 10th Pass Percentage is 83.89 per cent. This year, 835102 students had appeared for the SSLC exams, of which 7,00,619 passed. Students who took the class 10 exam can check them on the official websites, kseab.karnataka.gov.in and karresults.nic.in. In 2022, the SSLC total pass percentage was 85.63 per cent. It was the highest pass percentage in the past decade, excluding the 99.99 per cent recorded in 2021 when all the students were declared passed due to the Covid pandemic. This year, only four students scored 625/625 which is a massive dip from last year’s stats. In 2022, 145 students had earned the perfect score. Chitradurga comes up as best performing area with 96.8 per cent pass percentage followed by 96.7 per cent pass percentage in Mandya and 96.6 per cent pass percentage in Hassan. 1517 government schools have scored 100 per cent result, which is up from 1462 in 2022. No government school has got zero per cent result. This year, 87.76 per cent regular fresh students have cleared the SSLC exams, and 7.48 per cent were private fresh students. In the 2023 SSLC results, rural area students have scored better than urban area students. The overall pass percentage of the rural area students was recorded at 87 per cent and urban area students reported 79.62 per cent.  This year, 10 per cent of grace marks were given to students, compared to 5 per cent grace marks last year. A total of 59,246 students have benefited from this. Moreover, 11 aided schools recorded zero percent result, while 482 aided schools recorded 100 per cent result. A total of 1824 unaided schools recorded 100 per cent result, and 23 unaided schoos recorded zero percent results.  A candidate must receive a minimum of 35 per cent in each subject and in overall to pass the Class 10 exam. Students have even received grades in addition to marks for their SSLC scores. The Karnataka Board Class 10 Compartment Exam 2023 will be an option for students who don’t score the minimum necessary marks to receive the Karnataka Secondary School Certificate.

Compared to last year's 85.63% pass percentage, this year's pass percentage has slightly decreased. However, it is still higher than the past decade's average pass percentage, excluding the exceptional 99.99% pass percentage in 2021 due to the pandemic.

Out of the total number of students who passed the SSLC exams this year, boys recorded a pass percentage of 80%, while girls outperformed them with a pass percentage of 87%. Only four students managed to score 625/625, which is a significant drop from last year's 145 students with a perfect score.

Chitradurga, Mandya, and Hassan were the top-performing areas with 96.8%, 96.7%, and 96.6% pass percentages, respectively. In addition, 1517 government schools recorded a 100% pass percentage, which is an improvement from the 1462 schools in 2022. However, 11 aided schools recorded a zero percent pass percentage, while 482 aided schools recorded a 100% pass percentage. Furthermore, 1824 unaided schools recorded a 100% pass percentage, while 23 unaided schools recorded a zero percent pass percentage.

The rural area students outperformed the urban area students, with an overall pass percentage of 87% compared to the urban area students' 79.62% pass percentage. Additionally, this year, 10% grace marks were given to students, compared to last year's 5% grace marks, benefiting a total of 59,246 students.

To pass the Class 10 exam, a candidate must score a minimum of 35% in each subject and overall. Students have also received grades in addition to marks for their SSLC scores. For students who did not score the minimum necessary marks to receive the Karnataka Secondary School Certificate, the Karnataka Board Class 10 Compartment Exam 2023 will be an option.
