JEE Main 2026 Examination Announcement

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made a significant announcement regarding the JEE Main 2026 exam schedule for engineering aspirants. The examination will be conducted in two sessions, with the first session expected to take place from January 21 to January 30, 2026, and the second session from April 1 to April 10, 2026.

The online registration process for the January session will commence in October 2025 on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. To streamline the application process, NTA is implementing a major change this time. Candidates' essential personal information will now be automatically retrieved from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) database. This includes the candidate's name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and address.

Simplified Application Process

Reduction in Manual Data Entry Errors

According to officials, this new system aims to minimize errors associated with manual data entry and enhance the transparency and efficiency of the application process. NTA has also reminded students of a notice issued on November 6, 2024, which allowed candidates to rectify discrepancies related to spelling or names between their Aadhaar card and school certificates during the application process. Candidates are encouraged to thoroughly verify their Aadhaar details and Class 10 certificates before the application begins.

Expansion of Exam Cities

Improving Accessibility for All Candidates

In light of the increasing number of candidates, NTA plans to expand the number of exam cities to ensure better access for students residing in remote areas of the country. Additionally, special provisions will be made for candidates with disabilities to ensure that the examination process is inclusive for everyone.
