The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBoSE) has announced the results for the class 12 board exams 2023 today, May 20th. Vishal Sharma, the education board secretary, made the official announcement. Out of the 1,05,369 students who appeared for the exams, 83,418 students successfully cleared it, accounting for a pass percentage of 79.4%. This year's pass rate is significantly lower compared to the previous year's 93.91% success rate. In 2022, 87,871 students took the exam, with 93.91% of them passing.

The top three positions in the exams have been achieved by girls. In 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the HP Board Class 12 exams were canceled, and the results were determined through an alternate evaluation criteria based on students' performance in their class 10, 11, and 12 marks. During that year, 92.77% of students successfully cleared the exams, and Pushpendra from Kullu secured the highest marks with a perfect score of 500/500.

Similar to the previous year, the HPBoSE divided the board exams into two parts this year. However, the overall pass percentage has decreased. To pass the exam, students must score at least 33%. Those who miss the mark by one or two marks will have an opportunity to appear for improvement exams. The Himachal Pradesh Board Class 12th exams took place from March 10th to 31st, and a total of 1,03,928 students appeared for the final exams across the state. The results for science, arts, and commerce streams have been announced.

After receiving their mark sheets, students should verify their marks, as well as their name, school, and parents' names for accuracy. If any errors are found on the report card, it is important to inform the HP board authorities promptly.
