JEE Main 2026 Advisory

JEE Main 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a crucial notice for candidates participating in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026. This notice specifically addresses those whose submitted photographs and identification documents contained discrepancies. The NTA has now extended the deadline for photo verification for candidates without Aadhaar to January 15th.

As per the official announcement from the NTA, affected candidates will receive a link via their registered email addresses, allowing them to upload the required certificate in PDF format. Additionally, candidates must bring a printed version of this certificate to the examination center on exam day for physical verification.

Examination Schedule
The NTA is set to conduct the JEE Main 2026 Session-1 from January 21st to January 30th. Prior to the exam, candidates will receive a City Intimation Slip detailing their examination location, which can be accessed on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. This slip can be downloaded using the candidate's application number and password.

The NTA has confirmed that JEE Main 2026 will take place in two sessions. Registration for Session-1 occurred from October 31st to November 27th, 2025. During the review of applications, discrepancies in identification documents and photographs were identified, prompting this advisory.

Updated Guidelines
Previously, the NTA required candidates to submit a verified and signed certificate along with a recent photograph from their school or college principal or headmaster. However, many candidates reported challenges in contacting the relevant authorities.

In response to these concerns, the NTA has modified the requirements, now permitting candidates to have their certificates verified by a Class-I Gazetted Officer. This includes officials such as Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), and District Collector. Indian candidates living abroad can have their verification completed by a Class-I Gazetted Officer at the Indian Embassy.

The NTA encourages all candidates to finalize their verification processes ahead of time to prevent any issues on the examination day.
