Introduction to On-Screen Evaluation

This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to evaluate Class 12 answer sheets using an on-screen method. To facilitate this transition, the board has instructed school principals to ensure that teachers receive adequate practice in on-screen marking to prevent any issues during the evaluation process.

Accessing Practice Resources

Practice Link Available on OSM Portal

The CBSE has provided a practice link on the On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal. It is essential for all principals to ensure that teachers log into their OASIS ID (Online Affiliated Schools Information System) to practice on the OSM portal.

Information Distributed to Schools

Details Shared with Schools

The board has emailed the OSM portal URL, along with evaluator login IDs and passwords, to the schools registered on the OSIS portal. Principals are responsible for ensuring that all teachers of grades 11 and 12 log into the OSM portal and complete the required practice sessions before the actual evaluation starts. This initiative aims to familiarize teachers with the new evaluation process, and the completion of these tasks will be monitored by the CBSE.

Scope of On-Screen Evaluation

This time, 1 crore copies will be evaluated onscreen.

According to the CBSE, this year, a total of 32 crore pages from over 1 crore Class 12 answer sheets will be evaluated on-screen. The Examination Controller of CBSE stated that this method will significantly reduce the time and costs associated with transporting millions of answer sheets. Additionally, teachers will have the capability to evaluate the answer sheets using computers available in their school labs.

Board Exam Schedule

Board exams are scheduled for these dates.

The CBSE has scheduled Class 10 board exams from February 17th to March 11th, while Class 12 board exams will take place from February 17th to April 10th, 2026. After the exams conclude, Class 12 answer sheets will be evaluated on-screen, whereas Class 10 answer sheets will continue to be assessed using the traditional method.
