CBSE Conducts Class 10 and 12 Exams Amid Changes and Cancellations
Exams Scheduled for Today
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting examinations today for Class 10 Social Science and Class 12 subjects including Yoga, Electronics, and Hardware. The Class 10 Social Science exam is set to take place from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, while the Class 12 exams will occur from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Additionally, the Electronics and Hardware exam for Class 12 is scheduled from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Advice for Students
Students are encouraged to arrive at their examination centers well in advance, as entry will close promptly at 10 AM. The question paper for Class 10 Social Science will feature a new segmented format aimed at enhancing clarity and assessment standards.
Structure of the Question Paper
The question paper will consist of four sections:
- Section A - History
- Section B - Geography
- Section C - Political Science
- Section D - Economics
The board has stated that this structured format is intended to streamline the evaluation process.
Exams Canceled in the Middle East
Due to the current situation in Middle Eastern countries, no board examinations will be held today. All exams scheduled for Class 10 students between March 7 and March 11, 2026, have been canceled. Furthermore, exams that were previously postponed on March 2, 5, and 6 have also been canceled. The CBSE has indicated that the method for announcing results for Class 10 students in the Middle East will be communicated separately.
Postponement of Class 12 Exams
For Class 12 students, the exam scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, has been postponed, with revised dates to be announced later. The board will review the situation on March 7 and provide further instructions regarding exams scheduled from March 9 onwards. CBSE has advised all Class 12 students to maintain regular contact with their schools and closely follow official announcements.
Overview of the Examination Period
The board examinations commenced on February 17, with over 4.3 million students participating this year—approximately 2.5 million in Class 10 and around 1.85 million in Class 12. On the first day, Class 10 students took the Mathematics (Basic) and Mathematics (Standard) exams, while Class 12 students sat for Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Engineering Graphics, and Business Studies.
