CBSE Class 12 Results Overview



The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the results for Class 12, segmented by academic stream. This year, the overall pass rate is recorded at 85.20%. Notably, female students achieved a higher pass percentage of 88.86%, while male students recorded 82.13%.


In total, 163,800 students have been designated as 'Compartment' candidates in the Class 12 examinations this year. Students who did not pass in one or two subjects should not be overly concerned, as they have the opportunity to enhance their scores by participating in the Compartment Examination organized by the CBSE.

The CBSE has scheduled the Compartment Examination to take place on July 15, 2026, at various examination centers. Students aiming to improve their results are encouraged to register for this exam, which is also open to those who received a Compartment in one or two subjects.


Registration Details

**When Does Registration Start?**


Registration for the Compartment Examination will begin on June 2. Applications for the List of Candidates (LOC) will be accepted solely through online channels. The CBSE will soon issue a comprehensive notification detailing the application process. Additionally, students who did not pass the previous year's (2025) Compartment Examination are also eligible to take part in this year's exam.

This year, approximately 1,780,365 students registered for the CBSE examinations. Out of these, 1,507,109 students successfully passed, while 163,800 students received a Compartment. Furthermore, in the Class 12 examinations, 94,028 students achieved scores of 90% or higher, and 17,113 students reached the 95% mark.
