Students who took the CBSE Class 12 Board exams should note that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated the re-evaluation application process starting today, May 19. Those who are unhappy with their scores in any subject can apply online to review their answer sheets and request a re-evaluation.
If students find any errors in the marking or totaling of their scores after reviewing their scripts, they can submit a new application for re-evaluation.

A fee of ₹100 will be charged for each subject re-evaluated, which can be paid through various online payment methods.
Refund Policy for Increased Marks

CBSE has introduced a notable feature for students: if their marks increase after the re-evaluation, the entire fee paid will be refunded. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and fairness in the evaluation process.
In a recent tweet, CBSE stated: "CBSE has implemented a refund policy under the new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 Board exams. Students whose scores improve after re-evaluation will receive a full refund, promoting accountability and fairness in the evaluation process. The OSM system is designed to make evaluations more efficient and student-focused."
Re-evaluation Timeline and Fees
**Dates and Fees for Re-evaluation**
The re-evaluation application window is open from May 19 to May 22, 2026, with a fee of ₹100 applicable for each subject. After submitting the application, students can access their answer scripts on their personal login dashboard for review.
If discrepancies are suspected after reviewing the answer sheet, students can apply for rechecking between May 26 and May 29, 2026, at the same fee of ₹100 per subject. For rechecking a specific question, a fee of ₹25 is required.
