CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revealed that the second phase of the Class 10 Board Examinations for 2026 is set to begin on May 15. This examination will be conducted under the newly introduced two-tier system and will run until May 21, 2026. The first subject to be examined will be Mathematics, while the final subject will be Social Science.


Exam Schedule and Format

As per the schedule provided by the Board, all exams will take place in a single shift starting at 10:30 AM. Depending on the subject, the exam duration will conclude at either 12:30 PM or 1:30 PM.

CBSE has introduced a new examination framework starting in 2026. In this system, taking the first Board examination is compulsory for all students, while the second examination is optional. Students can improve their grades by retaking exams in up to three subjects, which include Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Language subjects. The highest scores from both examinations will be reflected in the final marksheet and certificate.

Instructions Issued for Examination Centers
The Board has provided essential guidelines for students taking the second examination. Candidates will not be allowed entry into the examination center after 10:00 AM. Students are encouraged to arrive early, considering traffic and weather conditions.


It is required for students to wear their school uniforms and carry their school identity cards along with their CBSE admit cards.


Prohibitions and Result Declaration

Ban on Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices
CBSE has enforced a strict ban on all electronic devices, including mobile phones, within examination centers. Only approved stationery items will be allowed during the exam.


The Board has cautioned students against spreading rumors or sharing examination-related content on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, and X.


Results Expected by the End of June
The results for the second examination are anticipated to be announced by the end of June 2026. Students who do not participate in the second examination can still seek admission to Class 11 based solely on their first examination results. The results will be accessible on the DigiLocker platform.


CBSE has clarified that final pass certificates and merit certificates will only be issued after the second examination results are declared.
