CBSE Board Exams 2026: Important Guidelines and Dress Code
Overview of CBSE Board Exams 2026
The upcoming CBSE board examinations for grades 10 and 12 are set to take place soon. Scheduled from February 17 to April 10, 2026, these exams will involve students from over 31,000 affiliated schools across India and 26 international locations. More than 8,074 examination centers have been established for this purpose, with an estimated 4.6 million students expected to participate. As the exam dates approach, students are intensifying their preparations and should familiarize themselves with the exam regulations, including the dress code.
Dress Code for CBSE Board Exams 2026
To uphold discipline and transparency during the examinations, CBSE has implemented a specific dress code. All students are required to attend the exams in their official school uniforms. This includes both boys and girls, who must adhere to the dress code strictly.
Girls are advised against wearing any jewelry, including large earrings, anklets, bracelets, or necklaces, and should ensure their footwear matches their school uniform.
It is crucial for students to arrive in their uniforms, as those who do not comply may be denied entry to the examination. Additionally, students must carry their admit cards and arrive punctually at the exam center, as late arrivals will not be accepted.
Changes to Class 10 Board Exams
In a significant update, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has introduced a new system for Class 10 board exams, allowing them to be conducted twice a year. This initiative aims to provide students with an opportunity to enhance their scores or retake any failed subjects. Students will have the chance to appear for improvement in up to three subjects during the second examination, which is scheduled from May 15 to June 1, 2026.
