Steps to Check Calcutta University UG Semester 1 Result:
- Visit wbresults.nic.in, the official website.
- Select the “B.A./B.Sc./ B.Com Semester-I (Honours/ General/ Major) Examinations, 2023(Under CBCS)” link.
- Enter your UG roll number and captcha code.
- Your UG semester 1 result will be displayed on the screen.
- Download and print the result for future reference.
Details Mentioned on Scorecard: The results will include:
- Candidate’s name
- Course name
- Roll number
- Grades from the semester exam
- Total marks (SGPA)
Candidates should carefully verify the details. In case of any discrepancy, they must contact their college for correction.
Supplementary Examination:
Students failing to pass any subject will be marked as failed and need to appear for a supplementary examination. The supplementary exam will be held during the semester 3 examination process.

Apart from Semester 1 results, CU has also declared results for the second semester of certain undergraduate programs and the fifth semester of BA and BSc courses.
Changes in BTech Admission Process:
Calcutta University has revised the admission process for its Bachelor of Technology (BTech) program. Currently, JEE results are mandatory for admission to every seat. Previously, science graduates exempt from the JEE exam were guaranteed 40% of the seats. However, a few students from specific BSc programs can still take the Joint Entrance Lateral Engineering Test (JELET) to enter the third semester.
