Inspiring Journey of Ritika from Bihar

Patna: Experiencing failure in competitive exams can be disheartening, but the true test lies in picking oneself up and moving forward. Ritika from Bihar exemplifies this spirit. After narrowly missing the UPSC Civil Services Main Examination in both 2023 and 2024, she refused to give up. During this challenging period, she took the BPSC 70th exam and succeeded on her first attempt, securing the position of State Tax Assistant Commissioner. However, Ritika's journey was far from over.

Persistence After Setbacks

Achieving a rank of 269 in the BPSC did not deter her from pursuing her ultimate goal. Ritika continued her preparation for the UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant exam. After completing the written exam and interview, she achieved an impressive All India Rank of 12 in the final results. Her story serves as a powerful message to candidates who consider abandoning their preparation after facing one or two failures.

Supportive Family and Educational Environment

Ritika hails from a family that values education and public service. Her father works as a Principal Private Secretary in the Central Secretariat, while her mother is a homemaker. This nurturing environment motivated her to prepare for competitive exams. Ritika completed her B.Sc. in Physical Science from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, before embarking on her journey in civil services and other competitive exams.

Facing Challenges Head-On

Ritika faced a tough time when the results of the UPSC CSE were announced, marking her second consecutive failure. Remarkably, just two days after the results, the BPSC 70th preliminary exam was scheduled. Instead of succumbing to disappointment, she gathered her resolve and appeared for the exam. This decision ultimately led to her significant success as she cracked the BPSC on her first attempt.

Achieving Success in BPSC

With a rank of 269 in the BPSC 70th exam, Ritika was selected for the position of State Tax Assistant Commissioner. Passing the BPSC on her first attempt was a major confidence booster for her. This achievement highlighted that the outcome of one exam does not define a candidate's entire potential. With this mindset, she continued her preparations for future challenges.

Setting New Records in CAPF

Ritika's ambitions did not stop with the BPSC. She successfully cleared the written exam for the UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant in 2024 and 2025. Following this, she participated in the interview in May and awaited the final results. When the UPSC announced the CAPF AC 2025 final results, Ritika achieved an impressive All India Rank of 12. Her journey illustrates that with perseverance and patience, failures can be transformed into success.
