Postponement of Teacher Eligibility Test

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination has announced the postponement of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) that was set for Sunday. This decision follows a reported paper leak incident in Thane. Priya Shinde, the Deputy Commissioner of the Examination Council, confirmed the postponement and assured that a new date for the exam will be communicated soon, urging candidates not to be concerned.

Shinde elaborated that the TET, organized by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination in Pune, was planned to occur at 1,728 centers statewide, with around 600,125 candidates expected to participate. However, due to the paper leak incident, the examination has been temporarily postponed.

She stated, "We have postponed the TET that was scheduled for June 28." The exam was anticipated to involve over 600,000 students across the state. The new date for the examination will be revealed shortly. When questioned about the individuals implicated in the alleged paper leak or any irregularities, Shinde mentioned that the investigation is still in progress, and it would be premature to draw conclusions at this point. She added that relevant agencies are looking into the matter, and updates will be provided once the investigation concludes.

To alleviate concerns among candidates regarding the postponement, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that there is no reason to panic. She encouraged students to maintain their study routines and clarified that they will not need to reapply or re-register when the new exam date is announced. "I want to tell all students to continue their studies and not to get anxious," she stated.

Candidates will retain their existing registrations for the upcoming exam, eliminating the need for re-registration. The postponement has impacted the preparation of countless candidates throughout the state. All attention is now directed towards the Maharashtra State Council of Examination for the announcement of the new exam date.
