Candidates applying for the FSO position must possess the required educational qualifications in relevant fields. Graduates, postgraduates, or doctoral degree holders in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Medicine from recognized universities are eligible to apply.
Additionally, degrees in specialized subjects related to Food Technology and Agricultural Science are also accepted. These include Food Engineering, Food Processing and Preservation, Food Technology and Management, Food Biotechnology, and Food Safety and Quality Management.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old, with age calculated as of August 1, 2026. The maximum age limit is set at 37 years for the unreserved category. For unreserved women, backward classes, and extremely backward classes, the upper age limit is 40 years, while it is 42 years for male and female candidates from SC/ST categories.
The online application fee is fixed at ₹100, which can be paid via debit card, credit card, internet banking, or UPI. Candidates should be aware that any additional charges incurred during payment will be their responsibility.
Selection Process

Candidates for the Food Safety Officer position will be selected based on a computer-based written examination. The exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, with a total of 100 marks available. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
Each correct answer will earn one mark, while incorrect answers will incur a penalty of 0.25 marks. The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English.
