Significant updates have emerged regarding scholarships for students in Uttar Pradesh. The Social Welfare Department has unveiled the full schedule for the UP Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2026-27. The application window for students in grades 9 to 12 opened on August 11, 2026. Additionally, applications for the 'Post-Tenth Scholarship'—which covers courses after Class 12, including graduation, post-graduation, diplomas, and ITI—will start in September.


Application Dates for Classes 9 to 12

Specific deadlines have been established for students in grades 9 through 12. Renewal applications for students in grades 10 and 12 who are already beneficiaries of the scholarship will be accepted from August 11 to August 25, 2026. First-time applicants in grades 9 and 11 can submit their applications from August 11 until September 21, 2026.


Post-Tenth Scholarship Applications Begin in September

For students pursuing courses after Class 12, applications will open on September 15, 2026. The renewal application deadline is set for October 15, while new applicants must submit their applications by October 31, 2026.


Application Process

To apply, students should visit the official UP Scholarship website at scholarship.up.gov.in. It is essential to complete the 'One Time Registration' (OTR) before proceeding with the application. After registration under the appropriate category, students must fill out the application form. Once completed, a printed copy of the form should be submitted to the respective school or college. There is no application fee involved.


Required Documents

Applicants will need to provide several documents, including an income certificate, residence certificate, caste certificate, bank passbook, photograph, previous class mark sheet, and Aadhaar card. It is important that the student's bank account is in their name and linked to their Aadhaar. Generally, the scheme is available to students whose parents have an annual income of up to ₹2 lakh.
