UP Board Practical Exam 2026: Roll Numbers Released for Class 12 Students
UP Board Practical Exam 2026 Update
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced a significant update for Class 12 students preparing for the UP Board Practical Exam 2026. As the practical exams draw near, the board has proactively issued roll numbers for Intermediate (Class 12) students. These roll numbers are now accessible through the official board system to facilitate the smooth execution of the practical exams.
Exam Dates and Schedule
UPMSP has confirmed that the Class 12 practical examinations will occur in two phases, scheduled from January 24, 2026, to February 9, 2026. These practical assessments will precede the main board examinations, which are set to commence on February 18, 2026.
The practical exams will encompass 53 subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Agriculture, Home Science, and various vocational subjects. This year, approximately 21,74,326 Intermediate students are registered to participate in the practical exams across Uttar Pradesh.
Early Roll Number Issuance
In a notable decision, UPMSP has released roll numbers ahead of the admit cards. This initiative, directed by UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh, aims to enhance the assessment process during practical exams.
The roll numbers have been uploaded to the official UPMSP portal (upmsp.edu.in) and communicated to district education authorities. The admit cards for both practical and theory exams are anticipated to be available by January 30, 2026.
Accessing Roll Numbers
Students will not need to download their roll numbers from the website. Instead, these numbers have been distributed through official channels to ensure accuracy.
Here’s how students can obtain their roll numbers:
- Roll numbers have been provided to District School Inspectors (DIOS).
- DIOS offices have shared roll numbers with respective schools.
- Schools will distribute roll numbers directly to students.
Students should reach out to their school administration for their roll number details, as these numbers are crucial for the examiners to allocate marks based on the roll number sequence.
Exam Centers and Monitoring
For the initial phase of practical examinations, the UP Board has established 7,401 examination centers throughout Uttar Pradesh. To ensure transparency and efficiency, 9,075 external examiners have been appointed.
A key feature this year is the enhanced monitoring system. The board has mandated that practical examinations be conducted under CCTV surveillance to uphold fairness, prevent malpractice, and ensure consistent evaluation standards across all centers.
Class 10 Internal Assessment Marks Update
In addition to the Intermediate updates, UPMSP has also opened the portal for uploading Class 10 internal assessment marks. School principals are required to upload these marks online using roll numbers.
For Class 10 students:
- Internal assessment contributes 30 marks per subject.
- Grades for sports and moral education must also be submitted.
For Class 12 students:
- Physical Education and Sports consist of 50 marks written + 50 marks practical.
- Schools must ensure accurate mark uploads to avoid discrepancies.
Total Roll Numbers Released
UPMSP has confirmed that roll numbers for a total of 52,30,297 students participating in the 2026 board exams have been issued on the school portal.
This total includes:
- 27,50,945 High School (Class 10) students.
- 24,79,352 Intermediate (Class 12) students.
The early release of roll numbers is expected to streamline both exam preparation and administrative processes.

Students are encouraged to:
