UP Board Announces Final Chance for Students to Correct Academic Details
Final Opportunity for Corrections
The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) has announced a last chance for students preparing for the 2026 High School and Intermediate examinations to amend any inaccuracies in their academic records. The Board has set a deadline of April 10, 2026, for all corrections to be made.
Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh highlighted that guidelines for correcting names, parents' names, subject selections, and gender codes had been previously issued. However, many students still have discrepancies in their records, which is concerning.
Issues have arisen particularly from incorrect Hindi transliterations of names that were originally recorded in English. If these errors are not rectified promptly, students may encounter problems with their certificates and other official documents in the future.
Mandatory Corrections by April 10
The UP Board has instructed school principals across all districts to meticulously verify the details of each student in their institutions. They are required to correct any identified errors by April 10, 2026, and submit the updated information to the appropriate regional offices.
Certificate of Verification Required from Schools
Additionally, every school must provide a certificate confirming that all student details for the 2026 examinations are now accurate. The Board has emphasized the importance of this task and warned that negligence will not be tolerated. Failure to meet the deadline could lead to disciplinary actions against the responsible officials and school administration.
