Today marks an important milestone for the numerous candidates who participated in the UGC NET June 2026 examination. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the provisional answer key along with the response sheet as of August 16, 2026. Candidates can access the answer key online via the official NTA website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.


Challenge the Answer Key

**Deadline for Objections: August 18**


Candidates are encouraged to verify their answers against the released key. If there are any discrepancies, they can file an objection against the answer key until August 18. A fee of ₹200 is required for each answer challenged.

Candidates who sat for the exam can download the answer key and response sheet by logging into the official website with their credentials. The answer key will not be sent individually or available offline. Follow these steps to download:


1. Go to the website ugcnet.nta.nic.in.


2. Click on the link labeled "Challenge of Provisional Answer Keys for UGC-NET June 2026" found in the 'Latest News' section.


3. Enter your application number, password, and the captcha code provided.


4. The answer key will appear on your screen, ready for download.


Subject-Specific Information

The examination covered 87 subjects. However, the answer keys for three subjects—English, Commerce, and Sociology—are currently unavailable due to issues identified in their question papers. The answer keys for the remaining 84 subjects have been released, and the pending subjects will have their keys published separately in the near future.


Final Answer Key Preparation

**Expert Review Process**


Any objections submitted regarding the provisional answer key will be evaluated by a panel of experts appointed by the NTA. Following this review, the final answer key will be established. The results for the candidates will be compiled based on this final key, with an expected announcement by the end of this month.


It is important to note that the UGC NET exam took place at various centers nationwide on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, and 30, 2026, as well as on July 5, 2026, including at the CT Group of Institutions exam center in Jalandhar.
