Overview of the UGC NET Exam
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the National Eligibility Test (NET) for the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the December session from January 31 to January 7, 2026. This examination was held in a computer-based test (CBT) format.
Release of the Answer Key
Following the examination, the NTA will issue a provisional answer key and invite objections. Experts will review any objections raised. If any objection is validated, it will be incorporated into the final answer key and results.
When to Expect the Answer Key?
Typically, the provisional answer key is released within 5 to 14 days after the exam concludes. In some instances, it has been made available as soon as 5 to 7 days post-exam.

Step 3: Click on the link for 'UGC NET Provisional Answer Key' once it is released.
Step 4: Log in using your application number and date of birth/password.
Step 5: The answer key PDF will be displayed on your screen.
Step 6: Repeat the process to download the document.
Afterward, candidates can compare their responses with the official answers.

UGC NET Exam Pattern
The examination consisted of two sections featuring objective-type multiple-choice questions. Part A included 50 questions assessing the candidate's teaching/research aptitude. Part B focused on the subject chosen by the candidate, comprising a total of 100 questions, each worth 2 marks. Candidates were required to arrive at their respective centers ahead of the scheduled time.
