Exciting News for Job Seekers: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the recruitment notification for the Sub-Inspector positions in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CPO) for the year 2026. This recruitment initiative aims to fill a total of 1,871 Sub-Inspector vacancies across various departments including Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and CISF.
Application Process Timeline
Application Dates:
The online application process started on September 10, 2026. Candidates interested in applying can submit their applications until 11:00 PM on September 30, 2026. The last date for online fee payment is October 1, 2026.
In case of any mistakes during the application process, a correction window will be available from October 8 to October 10, 2026, allowing candidates to rectify their forms.

Departmental Vacancies:
The SSC has outlined the following tentative vacancies: 205 positions for male candidates and 112 for female candidates in Delhi Police, 1,320 Sub-Inspector (GD) roles in CAPFs, and 234 Sub-Inspector (Fire) roles in CISF, totaling 1,871 posts.
Eligibility Criteria
Who Can Apply?
Candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university to apply for Sub-Inspector roles in Delhi Police and CAPFs. Final-year students may also apply, provided they meet the educational requirements by the application deadline.
Specific Degree Requirements:
For the SI (Fire) position in CISF, candidates need a graduation degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Additionally, those with a three-year diploma in specified engineering fields are also eligible.
Age Limit:
Applicants for the Delhi Police SI and CAPFs SI positions must be aged between 20 and 25 years as of August 1, 2026. For the SI (Fire) role in CISF, the age limit is set at 18 to 30 years. Age relaxation is available for candidates from reserved categories, with SC and ST candidates receiving a 5-year relaxation and OBC candidates a 3-year relaxation. Ex-servicemen are also eligible for age relaxation as per regulations.
Additional Requirements for Delhi Police SI
Driving License Requirement:
Candidates applying for the SI (Executive) (Male) position in Delhi Police must hold a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license for motorcycles and cars by the time of the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT).
