The School Education and Sports Department of Maharashtra has officially announced the lottery results for the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the academic year 2026-27. This year, a lottery was held for 1,14,826 seats available in around 8,701 private schools across the state. Under the RTE Act, 25% of these seats are designated for children from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Disadvantaged Groups, ensuring they receive free and compulsory education until Class 8. Steps to Check the RTE Merit List
To find out if your child has been selected, follow these steps:



  1. Visit the official website: student.maharashtra.gov.in.

  2. On the homepage, locate and click on 'RTE 25% Admission' in the 'Latest Announcement' section.

  3. Select the link for 'Maharashtra RTE Lottery Result 2026' or 'Merit List'.

  4. Input your District, Block, or School name.

  5. Click the 'Submit' button to view the merit list.

  6. Check for your child's name and download the list for your records.
