Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply?


Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold an LLB degree from a university or institution recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Those awaiting final results are not eligible to apply.


Age Limit (As of January 1, 2026):



  • Minimum Age: 21 years

  • Maximum Age for Chhattisgarh Domicile Holders: 40 years

  • Maximum Age for Candidates from Other States: 30 years


Selection Process

Selection Process: The recruitment will occur in two phases.



  1. Written Examination (300 Marks)


    The written test will be objective and last for 3 hours. It consists of two parts:



    • Part-1: General Knowledge
      50 Questions, 100 Marks (covering Chhattisgarh's history, geography, and current affairs)

    • Part-2: Law
      100 Questions, 200 Marks (covering major and minor acts, including new criminal laws like the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam)



  2. Interview (30 Marks)


    Candidates who meet the cut-off in the written exam will be invited for an interview, with approximately three times the number of vacancies being called.




The final merit list will be based on scores from both the written exam and the interview.


Salary and Benefits

What is the salary?


Selected candidates will be compensated according to Pay Matrix Level-9, with a salary range of ₹38,100 to ₹1,20,400 per month. Additional benefits include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and medical facilities as per state government regulations. A mandatory 3-year probation period is required before permanent confirmation in the department.
