Bihar Police Sub-Inspector Prohibition Recruitment Announcement



The Bihar Police Sub-ordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has officially opened the application process for the Sub-Inspector Prohibition positions starting today, January 27th. Aspiring candidates for police department roles can submit their applications online via the BPSSC's official site. The deadline for applications is set for February 27, 2026.


Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Eligibility Requirements


To qualify for the Bihar SI positions, applicants must be Indian citizens and possess a graduate degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. The age requirements are as follows:



  • Minimum age: 20 years


  • Maximum age: 37 years for general male candidates


  • 40 years for Backward Classes and women


  • 42 years for SC/ST candidates



Age will be calculated as of August 1, 2025.


Physical Standards Required

Physical Requirements


Candidates must meet the following physical standards:



  • General and Backward Class candidates: Minimum height of 165 cm, chest measurement of 81 cm (unexpanded) and 86 cm (expanded).


  • Extremely Backward Class, SC, and ST candidates: Minimum height of 160 cm, chest measurement of 79 cm (unexpanded) and 84 cm (expanded).


  • Female candidates: Minimum height of 155 cm and weight of at least 48 kg.

  1. Visit the official BPSSC website to access the Bihar SI Application Form 2026.


  2. On the homepage, locate the Application Link under the Prohibition Department - Ref.: Advt. No.-03/2026: Apply Online for the Post of Sub-Inspector Prohibition in Prohibition, Excise & Registration Dept., Govt. of Bihar.


  3. Click on the Register and Make Payment link on the new page.


  4. Fill in the necessary details for registration and pay the required fee.


  5. Complete the application form in Step 2. In Step 3, check your application status by clicking on 'View Application Status' and print it for your records.



All applicants, regardless of their category, must pay a fee of ₹100 when submitting the application. This fee can be paid online. A total of 78 positions will be filled through this recruitment.
