Bihar School Examination Board Announces Practical Exam Schedule

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released new regulations for students preparing for the Intermediate Board Examination in 2026. As the exam date approaches, both schools and students are gearing up for the upcoming assessments. According to the latest announcement, the Intermediate practical examinations are set to take place from January 10 to January 20, 2026.

Attendance Mandatory for Practical Exams

The board has emphasized that students who do not attend the practical exams will be barred from taking the theory papers. This measure aims to promote seriousness and integrity in the examination process.

Conducting Practical Exams at School Level

BSEB has mandated that all affiliated schools conduct the Intermediate practical exams within the specified timeline. While schools can choose the exact dates and times for the practical assessments, they must ensure that all exams are completed within the designated period.

Schools are expected to organize the practical exams based on their available resources. Students are required to adhere to the schedule provided by their schools and must participate in the exams. The board has warned that failure to attend practical exams will result in disqualification from the theory exams.

Admit Cards for Practical Exams

The board has issued admit cards specifically for the practical examinations. These cards are valid solely for the practical assessments, with separate admit cards for theory exams to be released later.

Students can download their practical exam admit cards from the official board website until January 9, 2026. It is essential for students to bring their admit cards to the examination venue.

An important stipulation for receiving the admit card is that only those students who have successfully passed the sent-up examination are eligible to participate in the practical exams. Candidates who did not qualify for the sent-up test will not be allowed to take the practical examination.

Advance Notification for Students

BSEB has instructed school principals to ensure that students receive clear and timely information about the date, time, and subject-specific schedule for the practical exams. Any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.

The board has stressed the importance of maintaining transparency and fairness throughout the examination process to prevent future disputes.

Guidelines for Differently-Abled Students

Special instructions have been issued for differently-abled students. Those needing a writer (scribe) must seek prior approval from the District Education Officer. Students facing difficulties can reach out to the board’s examination helpline for support.

Registration Statistics for Intermediate Exam 2026

For the upcoming Intermediate Examination in 2026, a total of 64,355 students have registered, comprising 29,842 boys and 34,513 girls. Given the large number of candidates, the board is implementing additional measures to ensure the smooth conduct of both practical and theory examinations.

Important Tips for Students

Students are encouraged to:

  • Download their admit cards ahead of the deadline

  • Stay updated with school announcements

  • Ensure mandatory attendance in practical exams

  • Carefully follow all instructions from BSEB

Non-compliance with these guidelines may adversely affect their eligibility for the theory examinations.
