The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has initiated the recruitment process for the position of Hindi Translator. The online application period began on August 31, 2026. Eligibility Criteria for Hindi Translator

Qualifications Required:


Candidates must meet one of the following educational qualifications:



  • MA in English with Honours in Hindi


  • MA in Hindi with Honours in English


  • Law Graduate with Honours in Hindi


  • MA in Hindi with Honours


  • MA in any subject along with an MA in Hindi


  • BA/BSc with Honours in Hindi



Additionally, applicants should have a minimum of three years of translation experience in a government or semi-government organization or a recognized daily newspaper. Preference will be given to those with proofreading skills and a passion for literary work.


Age Requirements

Age Limit:


Candidates must be between 18 and 37 years old as of July 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates from reserved categories and departmental employees according to existing regulations.


Application Process and Fees

How to Apply:


Applications must be submitted online via the official website; any other submission methods will not be accepted. The application fee is ₹1,000 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC/ST candidates are required to pay ₹500. Payment can be made online.


Selection Process and Salary Details

Selection and Compensation:


Candidates will be selected based on a written examination, which will be worth 100 marks and allow 90 minutes for completion. A merit list will be created based on the scores from this test. Successful candidates will receive a salary ranging from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 (Level-6, according to the 7th CPC).
