AIIMS CRE 2026 Exam Disruption and Rescheduled Date Announced
Overview of the AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is currently conducting the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) 2026, which is essential for filling various Group B and Group C positions at AIIMS and other central government health institutions. This examination is taking place in three shifts on August 31 and September 1. While the exam proceeded smoothly at most locations on August 31, it faced interruptions due to technical difficulties at two specific centers—RJ0101 and RJ0102—situated at the TCS iON Digital Zone in Sitapura, Jaipur.
Exam Attendance and Technical Issues
A total of 2,000 candidates were registered at these two centers, with 1,342 candidates from RJ0101 and 436 from RJ0102 attending the exam.
Power Supply Failure Affects Examination
The examination commenced at 9:00 AM on August 31, but an internal power supply failure at both centers led to significant disruptions. To ensure fairness and maintain the integrity of the examination process, AIIMS opted to cancel the test at these locations.
New Examination Date Set
Re-examination Scheduled for September 7
Candidates who were registered at the affected Jaipur centers will now take the exam again on September 7, 2026. AIIMS is currently making arrangements for new examination centers, and depending on the number of candidates, the test may be conducted either simultaneously or in separate batches.
Investigation into the Disruption
AIIMS Requests Report from TCS
AIIMS has formally requested a detailed report from TCS regarding the incident. The company has also been instructed to retain system logs, CCTV footage, and records of communications from the control room. These materials will be crucial for investigating the cause of the disruption. AIIMS has emphasized its commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.
