WhatsApp is launching a new 'App Update' section specifically for its Mac users. This feature will showcase the latest updates and provide users with the option to receive them either daily or weekly.

In its continuous effort to improve user experience, WhatsApp is rolling out a feature that allows Mac users to select their preferred frequency for beta updates. Earlier this year, the company had halted its beta testing program for Mac, but it is now making a comeback.


Details of the New Section

As reported by WABetaInfo, the beta testing program for Mac users has been reinstated. Users will find a new 'App Update' section in the settings menu, where they can view the latest beta updates. An option labeled 'Latest Version' will enable users to receive daily beta updates, although these may include bugs.


Alternatively, a 'Stable Weekly' version will be offered, allowing users to receive updates once a week, ensuring that these updates are free from bugs. Typically, these stable updates are released before the weekend, minimizing the chances of unexpected changes.


User Preferences

Both update options serve similar functions, allowing users to select what best fits their needs. Those who favor daily updates can opt for the 'Latest Version', while those who prefer a more stable experience can choose the 'Stable Weekly' option.
