A significant announcement has been made for youth preparing for jobs. Western Railway is offering recruitment opportunities specifically for athletes. The Railway Recruitment Cell has opened applications for a total of 64 positions. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website rrc-wr.com. Qualifications Required
For Level 5/4 positions, candidates must hold a graduation degree from any recognized university.
For Level 3/2 positions, candidates should have passed the 12th grade or an equivalent examination. Additionally, candidates who have completed their 10th grade along with an apprenticeship or possess an ITI certificate recognized by NCVT/SCVT are also eligible to apply.
Positions and Eligibility
Athletics
Candidates who have won medals in national and international competitions will be given priority in the recruitment process.
Badminton
Achievements from competitions recognized by BBFI will be valid only if obtained after December 17, 2025.
Bodybuilding
Certificates from competitions affiliated with IBBF will not be accepted if dated after December 31, 2021.
Boxing
Achievements in international competitions for the youth category after September 25, 2016, will be considered equivalent to junior category achievements.
Cricket
Players who have participated in major national competitions or reached the quarter-finals are eligible to apply for these positions.
Handball
Candidates applying for these positions should note that achievements from competitions organized by the Indian Handball Federation after September 5, 2023, will not be considered.
Hockey
Players who have performed well in national or international competitions will also be given a chance to apply for these positions.
Volleyball
Candidates interested in applying should be aware that certificates from competitions organized by the Indian Volleyball Federation after January 2, 2017, will not be valid.
Powerlifting
Achievements from competitions affiliated with IPF after October 3, 2017, will not be recognized.
Weightlifting
Eligibility according to the new bodyweight categories will be determined from June 1, 2025.
Wrestling
Certificates from competitions organized by WFI or affiliated bodies will only be valid if dated after March 10, 2025.
Age Limit
For NTPC sports quota recruitment, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not older than 25 years as of January 1, 2027. Birth dates should fall between January 1, 2002, and January 1, 2009.
Application Fee
The application fee is ₹500 for general and other candidates. Those who qualify and participate in the exam will receive a refund of ₹400 after deducting bank charges.
For SC, ST, differently-abled, women, ex-servicemen, and economically weaker section candidates, the application fee is ₹250, with a similar refund policy applicable.
