Western Railway Announces 5,349 Apprentice Vacancies with No Exam Requirement

The Railway Recruitment Cell has released a notification for 5,349 apprentice roles within the Western Railway. Notably, this recruitment will not involve any written tests or interviews.

This is excellent news for candidates who have completed their 10th grade and hold an ITI qualification. The recruitment process will be conducted entirely online, and candidates will be chosen based on merit alone. The advertisement number for this recruitment is RRC/WR/04/2025.

Interested applicants can submit their applications through the official website www.rrc-wr.com. The available positions include various trades such as fitter, electrician, welder, computer operator and programming assistant, electronic mechanic, diesel mechanic, painter, carpenter, refrigeration and AC mechanic, among others. The majority of vacancies are for the fitter and electrician roles.
Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
To qualify for this recruitment, candidates must have completed their 10th grade with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board and possess an ITI certificate from an NCVT-approved institution in the relevant trade. Candidates awaiting their 10th or ITI results are not eligible, nor are those with an engineering degree or diploma.
The age requirements are as follows:
1. Minimum Age: 15 years
2. Maximum Age: 24 years
Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government regulations: SC, ST, OBC, and PWD candidates will receive a 5-year, 3-year, and 10-year relaxation, respectively.
Selection Process
A notable aspect of this recruitment is the absence of a written examination. Selection will be determined by a merit list based on the marks obtained in the 10th grade and ITI. Following this, a document verification process will take place. In cases where candidates have identical marks, preference will be given to the older candidate.
The application fee is set at ₹100 for General and OBC candidates, while SC, ST, PWD, and female candidates are exempt from any fees.
