Exciting Opportunity for Nursing Aspirants: The Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board (UKMSSB) has unveiled a recruitment drive for the position of Nursing Officer, offering a total of 196 vacancies. Application Timeline:
The recruitment notification was officially released on June 3, 2026, with the online application process starting on June 12, 2026. Candidates can submit their applications until 5:00 PM on July 2, 2026. A correction window will be available from July 4 to July 7, 2026, allowing applicants to amend any mistakes in their forms.
Vacancy Breakdown:
Out of the 196 positions available, a significant portion is allocated for female candidates, with 157 posts designated for female Nursing Officers. Among these, 126 are for degree holders and 31 for diploma holders. For male Nursing Officers, there are 39 positions, including 31 for diploma holders and 8 for degree holders.
Salary Structure:
Selected candidates will be compensated according to Pay-Matrix Level-7 of the 7th Pay Commission, with salaries ranging from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month. Additional allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA) and Travel Allowance (TA) will also be provided as per state government regulations.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must hold a General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma, B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution. A valid registration certificate from the Uttarakhand Nursing and Midwifery Council is also required. Knowledge of Hindi is essential, and preference will be given to candidates with at least two years of service in the Territorial Army or those holding an NCC 'B' or 'C' certificate.
Age Requirements:
The age limit for applicants is set between 21 and 42 years, calculated as of July 1, 2025. Age relaxation will be provided for candidates from reserved categories as per government guidelines.
Selection Process:
Selection will be based on a written examination comprising multiple-choice questions (MCQs) worth a total of 200 marks, with a duration of three hours. Successful candidates will then undergo document verification and a medical examination. The exam will be conducted at various locations, including Dehradun, Srinagar, Haldwani, and Rishikesh.
Application Fees:
Candidates from the General and Other Backward Classes (OBC) must pay an application fee of ₹300, while those from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are required to pay ₹150.
