The government is also encouraging former military officers to inspect the ongoing construction of a Military Memorial, highlighting their commitment to honoring service members. Significant Fee Waiver for NDA and CDS Coaching


Coaching Fees: The government of Uttarakhand is set to provide substantial assistance to the children of ex-servicemen. Those aspiring to enroll in coaching for the NDA and CDS examinations will now benefit from a fee reduction of 50% or more. Military Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi has instructed the Managing Director of UPNL to implement this initiative.


According to Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi, many students dream of serving their nation by joining the armed forces but face financial barriers due to the steep fees imposed by coaching institutions. This decision aims to ease their financial burdens and resolve their challenges.


Details of the Fee Relief Initiative
In a recent meeting, it was agreed that UPNL, or Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation Limited, will cover half (50%) of the coaching fees for NDA and CDS. Furthermore, the state government will negotiate with coaching centers to secure an additional 25% discount, leaving students responsible for the remaining 25%.


Attendance of Senior Military Officials
The meeting included several high-ranking military officials, such as former Army Commander Lieutenant General A.K. Singh, Major General O.P. Sabharwal, Major General Sammi Sabharwal, Major General A.S. Rawat, Major General P.S. Rana, Major General D. Agnihotri, and UPNL Managing Director Brigadier J.N.S. Bisht.


Inspection of the Military Memorial
During the discussions, Military Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi urged former military officers to visit the ongoing construction of the Military Memorial, evaluate its progress, and provide their feedback. The former officers committed to inspecting the site on Tuesday.
