Uttarakhand Board Exams Begin


Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Board of School Education has officially kicked off its board examinations today, with the final exams scheduled to conclude on March 20. The first exam for intermediate students will be in Drawing and Painting, taking place from 10 AM to 1 PM. This year, a total of 215,252 candidates are expected to participate in the board exams.


According to Board Secretary Vinod Simlti, the high school exams will see 1,722 individual candidates and 110,544 institutional candidates. For the intermediate exams, there will be 3,637 individual candidates and 99,349 institutional candidates. A total of 1,261 examination centers have been established across the state, including 156 sensitive centers and six highly sensitive centers.

The first exam for intermediate students will be Drawing and Painting today, while the last exam will be conducted on March 20 for subjects including Sanskrit, Urdu, and Punjabi. For high school students, the first exam is scheduled for February 23 in Hindustani Music (Melodic Instrumental) and Typing in English and Hindi, concluding on March 20 with Hindustani Vocal Music and Hindustani Music.


The exams will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and candidates are required to report to their exam centers one hour prior to the start time.


Security Arrangements at Exam Centers

Security Measures in Place


Section 163 will be enforced around the exam centers, strictly prohibiting unauthorized entry. Surveillance will also be conducted on photocopy shops and crowded areas within a 200-meter radius of the centers. The use of mobile phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices will be completely banned inside the exam centers, allowing candidates to bring only permitted items.


Coordination Between Authorities

Preparation by Administration and Police


The Education Department has coordinated with the police and district administration to maintain law and order during the exams. District Magistrates, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), and police officials have been instructed to inspect the exam centers and ensure proper arrangements are in place.


Police personnel will be deployed to control crowds and maintain peace outside the exam centers, while administrative officials will periodically review the arrangements at the centers.
