This recruitment initiative is expected to fill more than 30,000 teaching positions across the state's educational institutions. Reports suggest that approximately 30,731 vacancies may be announced at the beginning of 2026, comprising 24,515 TGT roles and 6,216 PGT roles.
Timeline for UP Teacher Recruitment Notification
As per directives from the Directorate, all District Inspectors of Schools (DIOS) have been tasked with verifying and submitting certificates related to vacancies, excluding positions reserved for transfers in the 2025-26 academic year. The Uttar Pradesh Education Selection Commission had requested information for new recruitment on July 29.
The deadline for submitting requisitions, including potential vacancies, is set for March 31, 2026. Following this, it is anticipated that the UP Teacher Job notification will be released, initiating the direct recruitment process.
Before the official notification, all verified vacancies will be uploaded to the UPESSC portal by the Education Directorate. Each district is required to ensure the accuracy of the data prior to submission. According to Deputy Director (Secondary-3) Dr. Brajesh Mishra, this initiative aims to uphold transparency and efficiency in the recruitment process. Once approved, the recruitment will be conducted online via the official portal.
