Good news has arrived for Shikshamitras in Uttar Pradesh as the government has approved an increase in their honorarium. This adjustment will significantly affect their monthly earnings, providing much-needed financial relief.

Currently, approximately 143,000 Shikshamitras are employed in schools across Uttar Pradesh, playing a vital role in the basic education sector. After a prolonged wait, they have received a substantial boost in their honorarium, which will positively impact the livelihoods of many families. The announcement made in the Assembly confirms that Shikshamitras will now earn more than before.

Given the rising costs of living, household expenses, and educational needs for children, this salary increase is expected to be a significant support for them. This decision, announced just before the Holi festival, is viewed as a major relief for Shikshamitras. The focus now shifts to when the increased salary will be credited to their accounts.

New Salary Structure

Monthly Salary Set at ₹18,000

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed in the Legislative Assembly that the monthly honorarium for Shikshamitras will rise to ₹18,000. Previously, they received ₹10,000, marking an increase of ₹8,000. This adjustment is seen as a response to the long-standing demands of Shikshamitras, emphasizing their essential role in the education system. The government recognizes the need to enhance their financial stability, which will directly benefit millions of families.

Effective from April

The government has confirmed that the new honorarium will take effect from April. Consequently, Shikshamitras will receive the increased amount in their April salary. This means they will start enjoying the benefits of the new salary structure with the commencement of the new financial year. Administrative processes are underway to ensure timely crediting of salaries to Shikshamitras' accounts from April.

Additional Benefits for Instructors

This salary increase will also extend to over 28,000 instructors, who will now earn ₹17,000 per month. These instructors play a crucial role in assisting students with specialized subjects and activities in schools. The salary hike will directly enhance their income, and they too will benefit from the new rates starting in April.
