Details of the Recruitment Process

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated recruitment for over 81,000 positions within the police department for the financial year 2026-27. The recruitment will be phased, with notifications regarding various posts—including details on vacancies, eligibility criteria, age limits, application timelines, and other vital information—set to be published on the Board’s official website. Adityanath emphasized that the recruitment will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner, aiming to provide job opportunities to numerous youths. This recruitment initiative was initially announced in April.

Eligibility Criteria for Various Posts

This recruitment drive will fill multiple roles within the police department, including Constable, Sub-Inspector, Jail Warder, Radio Cadre personnel, Computer Operator/Clerk, and various technical and ministerial positions. The educational requirements will differ based on the specific role; for instance, candidates with a Class 12 education can apply for Constable positions, while a graduation degree is necessary for Sub-Inspector roles. Additionally, certain technical and computer-related positions may require candidates to have relevant certificates or specialized qualifications. Applicants are encouraged to thoroughly review the official notification for their desired post before applying.

Selection Process Overview

The recruitment process will commence with a computer-based examination. This test will cover topics such as General Knowledge, General Hindi, Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Numerical Ability, and Current Affairs. Candidates vying for Sub-Inspector positions will also face questions pertaining to law and the Constitution. Those who pass the written exam will proceed to the Physical Standard Test, which will assess height, chest measurements, and other physical standards. Following this, candidates must complete a Physical Efficiency Test that evaluates fitness through activities like running. The final selection will occur after document verification and a medical examination.

Online Application Procedure

The application process for this recruitment will be entirely online. Once the application period opens, candidates can visit the official UPPRPB website to access the recruitment notification. Registration will require a mobile number and email ID; for some positions, a ‘One-Time Registration’ may also be necessary. After registration, candidates must complete the application form with personal, educational, and other relevant details. They will need to upload photographs, signatures, and required documents in the specified format, followed by payment of the application fee based on their category. Before final submission, candidates should review all information and print a copy.
