Uttar Pradesh: The Yogi government continues to deliver good news for the youth. Following the recent increase in age limits for UP Constables, another significant announcement has been made. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) has shared a major update.


A direct recruitment drive for 32,679 positions in the UP Police has been announced, which now includes a three-year age relaxation for Home Guards. This change applies to candidates of both genders, providing thousands of new applicants with a valuable opportunity to apply.


Changes in Age Limit

Previously, the maximum age limit for candidates applying under the Home Guard category was set at 25 years. However, following the new directives from the recruitment board, this limit has now been raised to 28 years. According to Additional Secretary (Recruitment) Satyarth Anirudh Pankaj, this decision aligns with a government order issued on January 5, which granted a three-year relaxation across all categories of police recruitment.


Important Dates

Under the new regulations, candidates born between July 2, 1997, and July 1, 2007, will now be eligible to apply. This relaxation will be a lifeline for many Home Guards who were at risk of missing out on this recruitment due to age constraints. The recruitment process aims to fill a total of 32,679 positions across various wings of the police department.


The order was issued on January 5, and it includes the age relaxation for Home Guards. Candidates are encouraged to stay updated by visiting the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board's official website. The online application process for 32,679 constable and equivalent positions began on December 31 of the previous year, with the last date for applications set for January 30.
