The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has announced the postponement of the Lecturer (PGT) recruitment examination, which was initially set for October 15 and 16, 2025. Candidates who have been preparing for the UP Lecturer (PGT) written exam will need to wait longer. The commission's Deputy Secretary confirmed this decision, stating that a new exam date will be published on the official website in due course. The reasons for this delay have not been disclosed.

The recruitment process for PGT and TGT positions began on June 9, 2022, aiming to fill 3,539 TGT and 624 PGT roles. Although the application deadline was initially July 9, 2022, it was extended to July 16, 2022. Despite the passage of over three years, neither exam has been conducted yet. A total of 450,000 candidates applied for the PGT exam, while 869,000 registered for the TGT exam, all of whom have been waiting for three years.

The management of the TGT and PGT recruitment exams by the Education Services Selection Commission has faced ongoing criticism. Competitive students have raised concerns about the delays. Avnish Pandey, the president of the Competitive Students' Struggle Committee, questioned how much longer candidates will have to endure this wait. The PGT exam has already been postponed four times, while the TGT exam has faced delays twice.

There remains uncertainty regarding whether the upcoming exams will proceed as planned. The latest postponement of the PGT exam has left many competitive students feeling disheartened.
