Introduction to the E-Requisition Portal

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has activated its e-requisition portal, paving the way for the hiring of over 60,000 teachers in government schools across the state.

Instructions for Basic Education Officers

The Basic Education Department has directed Basic Education Officers (BSAs) in all districts to upload detailed information about vacant teaching positions onto the portal. This step is crucial for initiating the recruitment process, which aims to address the long-standing vacancies in the education sector.

Current Vacancy Statistics

Reports indicate that there are around 60,000 teaching vacancies statewide. Specifically, 11,508 positions are available in urban schools, while approximately 48,000 are in rural areas. The department has already submitted data for urban vacancies, and the information for rural posts is in the process of being uploaded.

Age Limit for Applicants

Candidates must be at least 21 years old to apply, with an upper age limit set at 40 years. However, candidates from OBC, SC, and ST categories, as well as women who are residents of Uttar Pradesh, will receive a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit, broadening the pool of eligible applicants.

Exam Pattern Insights

Details regarding the exam format have also surfaced. The upcoming recruitment exam is expected to be objective, featuring multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates will choose the correct answer from four options provided for each question. The exam is anticipated to last around two hours, with the possibility of it being conducted by September 2026, pending official notification.

Ensuring Transparency in Recruitment

A significant focus is being placed on transparency throughout the recruitment process. The e-requisition portal will maintain a digital record of all vacancies, providing clarity on the number of available posts and their current status. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and reduce the chances of irregularities in the hiring process.
