Exciting news has emerged for professionals in Uttar Pradesh looking to upgrade their skills while maintaining their jobs. The UP Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are set to introduce special evening classes aimed at working individuals. The initiative aims to enroll approximately 150,000 professionals, with regular students also eligible to apply. A new "third shift" will be specifically tailored to meet the needs of these working candidates.


Details of the Third Shift

**Third Shift Timing: 2 PM to 10 PM**


The third shift will be reinstated for the academic year 2026-27, operating from 2 PM to 10 PM in both government and private ITIs across the state. This schedule is designed to accommodate working individuals, allowing them to attend classes after their work hours.


Important Dates for Admission

**Data Submission Deadline: August 7**


The Skill Development Department has given the green light for the third shift, prompting swift action to upload institutional data to the National Instructor Management System (NIMS) by August 7. Following this, a detailed list of available seats for the third shift will be published.


**Application Deadline: August 14**


The application process for these courses is now open, with a target of admitting 150,000 candidates. Applications must be submitted by August 14. For those applying under the "Dual System Training" mode, which involves collaboration between the industry and ITI, the deadline extends to September 30. Admissions will be determined based on Class 10 examination scores, with eligibility lists compiled at state, district, and block levels. Additional merit lists will also be created to fill any remaining vacancies.

Uttar Pradesh boasts more than 3,800 operational ITIs, including 305 government-run institutions and approximately 3,300 private ones. Together, these ITIs provide over 500,000 seats, with government ITIs offering more than 134,000 seats and private ITIs contributing over 371,000 seats.
