Exciting News for Home Guard Aspirants in Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the recruitment of Home Guards, bringing hope to many young individuals. A recent government order has been issued, along with the approval of new guidelines. Notably, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) will oversee the hiring of more than 45,000 Home Guard positions. Additionally, candidates who have completed their 10th grade will now be eligible to apply.
According to the newly released "Uttar Pradesh State Home Guard Enrollment Guidelines," the online application process will commence on July 1st. The guidelines specify that Home Guard volunteers will be recruited based on the available vacancies in their respective districts. The District Commandant will evaluate the current vacancies in district units on July 1st of the enrollment year, ensuring that separate vacancies are allocated for both men and women, allowing candidates to apply accordingly.
Eligibility Criteria for UP Home Guard Recruitment
To qualify for the Home Guard positions, applicants must be residents of the district where the vacancy exists. Those who are currently employed in public, government, semi-government, or public sector undertakings are not eligible to apply. Educationally, candidates must have completed their 10th grade from a recognized board or hold an equivalent qualification acknowledged by the Uttar Pradesh government. At the time of application, candidates must provide their 10th-grade marksheet and certificate.
Age Requirements for Applicants
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not older than 30 years to apply for the Home Guard recruitment. The age will be calculated as of July 1st of the enrollment year. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates from OBC, SC, ST, and other reserved categories, but only for native residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Selection Process Overview
The selection of candidates for Home Guard roles will be based on a written examination featuring objective-type questions. This exam will carry a total of 100 marks and will last for 2 hours. The UPPRPB will determine the syllabus and schedule for the examination. A merit list will be created based on the results of this written test.
Candidates will then be invited for document verification and a physical standard test. The minimum height requirement for male candidates from general/SC/OBC categories is set at 168 cm, while female candidates must be at least 152 cm tall. Additionally, the weight requirement for women is capped at 40 kg.
