Uttar Pradesh Government to Disburse Scholarships Early for 2023

Early Scholarship Distribution in Uttar Pradesh
Scholarship Announcement: The government of Uttar Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has made a pivotal decision to distribute scholarships earlier than usual this year. On September 24th, scholarship funds will be allocated to more than 400,000 students across the state. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Backward Classes Welfare, Social Welfare, and Minority Welfare departments, and a special event will take place at the Indira Gandhi Foundation.
In contrast to previous years when scholarships were typically awarded in February or March, this year marks a significant advancement with funds being released six months ahead of schedule.
Aiming for 7 Million Scholarships by 2025
In 2024, approximately 5.9 million students from Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes received scholarships from the Uttar Pradesh government. This figure is projected to rise to over 7 million by 2025, with 400,000 students set to receive scholarships on September 26th.
Diwali Gift from the Yogi Government
According to Narendra Kashyap, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes Welfare and Disabled Empowerment, this early distribution represents a historic shift in the scholarship allocation process under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership. He noted that while scholarships were previously distributed in February-March, they are now being issued during the auspicious period of Navratri in September, which he referred to as a Diwali gift for students.
Strategic Planning Under CM Yogi's Leadership
Minister Kashyap elaborated that the primary goal of the Uttar Pradesh government is to ensure timely scholarship distribution. To achieve this, a comprehensive strategy has been crafted by the Backward Classes Welfare, Social Welfare, and Minority Welfare departments under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's guidance. This year, students will benefit from scholarships during the festive occasion of Navratri.
