The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has initiated the recruitment process for the positions of Scientific Assistant and Lab Assistant at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Uttar Pradesh. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 208 vacancies. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their applications online through the Commission's official website, upsssc.gov.in, from July 27, 2026, to August 17, 2026.
The selection will be based on the results of the PET-2025 examination. Only candidates who participated in the PET-2025 and achieved a normalized score of zero or above are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this recruitment, candidates must have participated in the PET-2025. Specific educational qualifications are required for each position.
For the Lab Assistant role, a bachelor's degree in the relevant field is necessary.
For the Scientific Assistant position, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject or an equivalent qualification, such as:

Computer Science
Information Technology
Preference Criteria
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:
Those who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum of two years
Holders of the NCC 'B' Certificate
Candidates with an M.Sc. in the relevant subject or higher qualifications in Computer Science for the Scientific Assistant role
Age Limit
The age limit will be determined as of July 1, 2026. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per Uttar Pradesh government regulations.
Minimum age: 21 years
Maximum age: 40 years
Selection Process
The recruitment will occur in two phases:
1. Shortlisting for the Main Examination based on the PET-2025 score
2. Main Written Examination
The Commission typically shortlists candidates for the Main Examination at a ratio of approximately 15 times the number of advertised posts in each category. Final selection will depend on the scores obtained in the Main Examination.
Application Fee
An online processing fee of ₹25 is applicable for candidates across all categories. Those selected for the Main Examination will need to pay an additional examination fee before downloading their admit cards.
Important Notes for Candidates
Reservation benefits are available only to residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Candidates from other states will be categorized under General.
The EWS certificate must be valid for the financial year 2026-27.
Changes to application details can be made until August 24, 2026.
