UPSSSC PET 2026 Exam Dates and Details Announced

The UPSSSC has announced the exam dates for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026, scheduled for October 23-25, 2026. Candidates will take the exam in two shifts each day. While the admit card release date is yet to be confirmed, candidates are advised to prepare thoroughly and keep an eye on the official website for updates. The exam will consist of 100 MCQs covering various subjects, and eligibility requires completion of Class 10. The application process has already concluded, with specific fees set for different categories.
 

UPSSSC PET 2026 Exam Schedule



The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has officially released the exam dates for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026. Scheduled for October 23, 24, and 25, 2026, the exam will be conducted over three days, with candidates participating in two shifts each day.


Exam Format and Shifts

The UPSSSC PET 2026 will be administered in two shifts daily. The first shift is set from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Each shift will last for two hours. Candidates will receive details about their specific exam date, shift, and center through their admit cards.


Admit Card Release Information

As of now, the UPSSSC has not disclosed the date for the release of the PET 2026 admit cards. Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the official website and notice board for updates. Once available, the admit cards can be downloaded by entering the required login information. It is crucial for candidates to verify their personal details, exam date, shift, and center on the admit card.


Exam Structure and Subjects

The UPSSSC PET 2026 will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), totaling 100 marks. The subjects covered will include Indian History, the Indian National Movement, Geography, the Indian Economy, the Indian Constitution and Public Administration, General Science, Elementary Arithmetic, General Hindi, General English, Reasoning, and General Awareness. Notably, there will be negative marking, with one-fourth of the marks deducted for incorrect answers, so candidates should be cautious with their guesses.


Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the PET 2026, candidates must have completed their Class 10 from a recognized board. Those with higher qualifications from accredited universities may also apply. The age requirement is between 18 and 40 years as of July 1, 2026, with age relaxation available for candidates from reserved categories as per the Commission's regulations.


Application Process Overview

The online application process for the UPSSSC PET 2026 commenced on August 3, 2026, and concluded on September 7, 2026. The deadline for the exam fee payment was also September 7, with a correction window available until September 8. The application fees were set at ₹185 for General and OBC candidates, ₹95 for SC and ST candidates, and ₹25 for those with disabilities.
