UPSSSC Excise Constable Recruitment Update



UPSSSC Excise Constable Recruitment: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has published the list of candidates who have been shortlisted along with the cut-off marks for the Excise Constable Main Examination 2026. A total of 32,891 candidates have been selected for the main examination, which is being conducted for 820 available positions. Candidates can check their results on the official website of the Commission.


Initially, online applications were accepted for 722 positions from June 4 to June 24, 2026. However, on June 23, 2026, the Commission released a corrigendum that added 98 more posts to the recruitment, bringing the total to 820 vacancies. Out of these, 682 positions are allocated for the general selection category, while 138 are reserved for the special selection category.


Selection Criteria Based on PET-2025
The Commission clarified that candidates who received zero or negative marks in either their actual or normalized scores in PET-2025 were excluded from the main examination selection. The eligible candidates were then shortlisted based on their normalized scores from PET-2025.


The selection process adhered to an order from the Allahabad High Court regarding a specific case, leading to the selection of 32,891 candidates for the main examination. Below are the category-wise cut-off marks:

Date for Main Examination to be Announced
The Commission will soon reveal the date for the Excise Constable Main Examination 2026. Candidates who have been shortlisted based on PET-2025 should regularly check the official website for updates regarding the exam schedule. It is advisable for candidates to begin their preparations for the Main Examination without delay.


The Main Examination will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with each correct answer earning one mark and a penalty of 1/4 mark for incorrect answers. The examination will last for 2 hours, and this recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 820 Excise Constable positions.
