UPSC Announces Recruitment for Educational Leaders



The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has initiated the recruitment process for the roles of Principal and Vice Principal within the Education Department of the Delhi Government (NCT). A total of 828 positions are available, comprising 124 Principal roles and 704 Vice Principal roles, all to be filled through direct recruitment. The online application window opened on July 25, 2026, and will remain accessible until August 14, 2026. Candidates who fulfill the necessary educational qualifications, experience, and age requirements can apply via the UPSC's official Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal.


**Principal Recruitment Qualifications**


Candidates must possess a Master's degree from a recognized institution.


A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree is required.


Applicants should have 10 years of teaching experience as a Vice Principal, Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), or Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in a recognized school.


Age Limit: 50 years for UR/EWS, 53 years for OBC, and 55 years for SC/ST, with relaxations applicable for eligible PwBD candidates.


**Vice Principal Recruitment Qualifications**


A Master's degree from a recognized university or institution is mandatory.


A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree is also required.


Candidates should have two years of experience as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) or three years as a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT).


Age Limit: 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST, with applicable relaxations for PwBD candidates.


A Combined Recruitment Test (CRT) is scheduled for November 1, 2026, to shortlist candidates.
